Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 23 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: Distance Covered: 6.50 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Monday 7th September - walks **** – Around Felixstowe – sunny
periods.
Walk 1 – Felixstowe sunrise.
After missing a nice sunrise yesterday I headed down to sit near the pier
at 5.45 but it was pretty underwhelming so when Mag arrived just after 6 we
set off on our walk and the sky did colour up red and the sun did make an
appearance so it was not too bad in the end! We walked a little further
turning at the seat just past The Fludyers Hotel and back through the Spa
Gardens and home to sort out my pics with a cuppa in bed! I had an
appointment at the General Hospital again, this time for a ECG at midday
which messed up my chances of a windsurf foil but with the wind offshore
and low tides for the Orwell I made up my mind to give today a miss, maybe
i can get out tomorrow?
Walk 2 Around Felixstowe with cake out :)
I did my exercises in the sunny back garden for the first time in several
days before Mag and I set off to the General and the ECG went well and I
had a plan and we set off inland which surprised Mag but she soon guessed
to were heading to Lotty’s a well known little cafe famous for its
homemade cake just past the Spar on High Road East and it was pretty busy
but we got a table outside and ordered cappuccino and cake which was OK but
it was surprisingly warm especially when the sun broke through! After a
pleasant hour we continued onto Brackenbury Green and down through the
beach huts and down to the prom to walk back home along the seafront which
was nice but knackering in the end we walked 6.50 miles today!
